CMA CGM Senior Executives Visit CIMC Taicang to Explore New Opportunities
Shanghai, April 23, 2026 – During the Intermodal Asia 2026 exhibition, a delegation from the Asia-Pacific region of CMA CGM, a global leader in shipping and logistics, visited CIMC Taicang for an exchange and site tour.
As the world’s third-largest container shipping company, CMA CGM operates a network covering more than 420 ports worldwide, with an annual transport volume exceeding 22 million TEUs.
This visit continues the high-level attention and deepening cooperation that CMA CGM has maintained with CIMC Taicang over the years from 2023 through 2025. It underscores CMA CGM’s sustained recognition of CIMC Taicang and opens a new chapter for the iterative collaboration and long-term co-development between CIMC Taicang and a top-tier global shipping enterprise in the year ahead.
During the visit, the CMA CGM delegation first toured the fifth-floor exhibition hall of CIMC Taicang, where they gained a comprehensive understanding of the company's production capacity, quality advantages, and its development journey spanning over two decades since its establishment. Subsequently, in the meeting, the two sides held lively discussions on the application of new materials including high-strength steel, powder coating, and high-solid paint, as well as issues related to lead times and production line modifications. CMA CGM indicated its intention to conduct small-scale trials of these materials and technologies in its upcoming new round of orders. Drawing on its past experience, CIMC Taicang expressed its full commitment to continuously provide CMA CGM with high-quality products and services.
Since 2007, CIMC Taicang has delivered a total of over 220,000 TEUs of various high-quality containers to CMA CGM, with product series covering 20-foot and 40-foot standard containers, open top containers, and other special types. During the Intermodal Asia 2026 exhibition in Shanghai, three of CIMC Taicang's products — the 20GP, 40HC, and 35-ton open top container — were awarded the "Five-Star" rating under the Container Product Carbon Footprint Label Evaluation and were certified as "Green Benchmark Products" under the Green Product Evaluation. CMA CGM stated that this aligns closely with its own philosophy in the areas of sustainability and low-carbon transformation, and expressed high appreciation for CIMC Taicang's efforts in this regard.
During the visit, the CMA CGM delegation spoke highly of CIMC Taicang's efficient and well-organized production line layout and recognized the company's achievements in technological innovation and AI application. While touring the company's special container product display area, delegation members expressed admiration for the environmentally friendly recycled materials used in the exhibition zone and highly appreciated CIMC Taicang's exploration in new business lines and new product tracks. By visiting the automated and intelligent container production lines in person, the CMA CGM delegation gained an intuitive understanding of CIMC Taicang's outstanding intelligent manufacturing capabilities and its confidence in deepening its core business while expanding into new fields.
The visit of the CMA CGM delegation has further strengthened the long-term, mutually trusting cooperative foundation between CMA CGM and CIMC Taicang. Looking ahead, the two sides will work hand in hand to build a long-term, stable cooperative ecosystem for the global logistics industry, striving towards a more efficient, greener, and more sustainable future — a true two-way commitment for enduring coexistence and shared growth.
